Eco-company XCO2 have developed a nifty, silent run wind turbine for urban use. It's helical design means that it will work in any wind direction. The turbine been developed further into a wind-light that can carry pictures and messages. Looks a bit like a psychadelic lampshade in this pic, but Bristol town council likes the idea so much they'll be having some installed by the end of this year. Coming soon to a town near you?
